Penrith  will hope to put five consecutive losses behind them with a win over St George  in Monday night football. The Panthers have struggled under new coach Ivan Cleary and sit in second last position on the competition ladder. Michael Jennings has been dropped to NSW Cup for disciplinary reasons and things don’t seem to be getting any easier for the mountain men. St George too have been inconsistent winning five of their nine games this season.

History – The Dragons have dominated Penrith in recent seasons recording seven wins from the past eight games between the two clubs. Penrith haven’t won in eight games at home and are struggling to find momentum. The Dragons trounced Penrith 32 – 12 last time they met and will be hoping of a repeat performance to cement their position in the top eight before origin takes centre stage.

Dangermen – Panthers fullback Lachaln Coote is beginning to show us what he is capable. When fit, Coote has been one of Penrith’s best performers this season. Dragons flyer Brett Morris will be out to prove that his omission from the NSW Origin squad was a mistake with a big performance.

Prediction – All the signs point towards a Dragons win, however the Panthers have been copping a lot of stick in the media. Expect Penrith to come out firing and give their best performance of the season to record a narrow win. Panthers 1-12 .
