Oz Lottos $24.9 Million winner comes forward

Friday 11 May - Three days after Oz Lotto’s $70 million draw, a Sydney man has come forward to claim his $24,952,195.76 share in Australia’s second biggest Oz Lotto jackpot.

The advertised mammoth $70 million Oz Lotto jackpot prompted the winner to purchase his very first Oz Lotto ticket, leading to his big windfall.

The winner, who presented the winning ticket at the NSW Lotteries head office this morning, said that he feels like he is dreaming.

“I checked the numbers on the internet yesterday and when I saw the same seven numbers on my ticket I felt weak at the knees,” the winner said.

“This is the first Oz Lotto ticket I have ever bought, I didn’t even know how to play,” the winner added.

“I haven’t told anyone yet. I will be using the money to help my family.

“This win means myself and my family will never have any money worries again.”

The generous winner said that looking after his family will be his first priority.

“First, I want to look after my family and then I will do something nice for myself.

“I feel like I’m in a dream. My life will be completely different now,” the winner added.

The winner purchased his winning Oz Lotto ticket from 7-Eleven Pendle Hill at 217 Wentworth Avenue, Pendle Hill. The winner scored his $24.9 million win with a 24 game Megapick which cost $27.85.

The Sydney man shared Oz Lotto’s $70 million jackpot prize with a mother from Adelaide’s western suburbs and a winner who purchased their ticket in Victoria.

The winning numbers in Oz Lotto’s $70 million draw (951) were 17, 8, 28, 34, 41, 42 and 6. With the supplementary numbers 4 and 19.

Oz Lotto will offer a $2 million division one prize in next week’s draw.

Lotto players still have an opportunity to win big in this week’s Saturday Lotto $20 million Superdraw.
