Popular galloper Black and Bent  will be bidding to equal the long standing record for the most consecutive wins in jumps races when he contests the Galleywood Hurdle at the Warrnambool Carnival on Wednesday. The gelding won this contest last year on the way to wins in the Grand National Hurdle and J.J Houlahan Hurdle before recording his eight win in a row when resuming in the Pink Ribbon Day Quality Hurdle at Sandown last month.

Under the set weights and penalties conditions of the race Black and Bent looks well placed, although his main opposition may come from Gotta Take Care  - who was won two of his three races of fences – and Above Average , who was an impressive winner of his only race over timber at the end of March.
