Chelsea  goes into the second leg of its quarterfinal tie against Benfica  confident of progressing to the next stage of the competition after scoring a crucial away goal in Portugal to set up a 1-0  win last week. The London club has won all of their home matches in this season’s competition and will be further boosted by the availability of Didier Drogba, Raul Meireles and David Luiz, who were all injury doubts at the start of the week.

While Chelsea have a good record at home in this competition, Benfica have put together a decent record of their own when playing away from home in this competition. In their six games this season, they have collected two wins and three draws , including a 2-2  result at Old Trafford in November against Manchester United. A draw would not be enough for them here however, with their defeat at home last week meaning that they can only advance to the semi-finals with a win.

Real Madrid  appears to be as good as through to the semi-finals, with the Spanish giants taking a three goal advantage into the second leg of their tie against APOEL .
