Mystery missing millionaire has claimed his Gold Lotto prize!

Monday 30 April, 2012 - A Mitchelton man has discovered he’s a millionaire more than one week after his Saturday Gold Lotto ticket won him a share of the division one prize pool from draw 3209 on 21 April.

The Gold Lotto player purchased his ticket in the inner city Brisbane suburb of Windsor and today he found out it has made him $1,369,698.34 richer!

The winner admitted to not watching the the televised Gold Lotto draw but waiting until the next time he visits a newsagency to have his ticket checked.

“I always thought I had a chance of winning, but when the newsagent told me I’d won a prize I didn’t think it’d be the top one!” he said.

Now he’s a millionaire, the man has a fair idea of how he’ll spend the money.

“I plan on buying a new home, going on a holiday and probably buying myself a yacht.”

Golden Casket Public Relations Executive Zoe Knobel is pleased the mystery winner came forward as the entry was not registered and therefore not linked to his details for Golden Casket to contact him immediately.

“Unfortunately the entry was not registered to a Winners Circle Card, so Golden Casket had no way of making contact with the winner to tell them their life-changing news.”

Ms Knobel said this was a timely reminder to become a member of Winners Circle ahead of tomorrow’s Oz Lotto jackpot of $50 million.

“If you have your tickets registered to your Winners Circle Card we can contact you the first business day after the draw to share the good news!”

The winning ticket was purchased from Homezone Newsagency in Homezone on Newmarket Road.

The winner was one of three division one winners nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3209, with all three winners hailing from Queensland.

The winning numbers were 1, 15, 16, 21, 28 and 2 with supplementary numbers 35 and 40.
