Bayern Munich face Real Madrid at the Bernabeu on Thursday morning (AEST), looking to advance to the Champions League final, which will be played at their home ground on May 19. The job is already half done for the Germans, having collected a 2-1 victory in the first leg of their semi-final in Munich last week, although Real collected an important away goal.
The Spaniards have excelled at home in the Champions League this season, winning all five of their games and scoring 22 goals in the process. Former Manchester United marksman Cristiano Ronaldo has been their most prolific scorer in the competition, bagging eight goals from nine games this campaign. Jose Mourinho’s side will go into the clash full of confidence after beating fierce rivals Barcelona 2-1 in La Liga on the weekend.
Bayern made eight changes to the side that won last week’s clash for their fixture against Werder Bremen on the weekend, but are likely revert back to the side that did so well against Madrid in the opening leg on Thursday morning.
