Monday 2 April - Saturday Lotto’s $21 million Superdraw prize was shared by 19 winners across Australia, with three of the winning shares sold in NSW.
A Worrigee grandfather who purchased his winning ticket in Bomaderry scored a $1.1 million share in the $21 million division one prize pool, as did an unregistered winner who purchased their winning ticket in Mosman. A ten share NSW Lotteries network syndicate also won a division one share plus several other prizes amounting to a total win of $1,127,486.50.
A Worrigee man in his fifties won a $1,105,263.16 share in Saturday Lotto’s $21 million division one prize pool with a ticket purchased from Bomaderry Newsagency at 59 Meroo Street, Bomaderry.
The winner, who checks his tickets once a week, was unaware of his good fortune until he received a call from a NSW Lotteries official this morning.
“You’re joking me, you ripper!” the local grandfather exclaimed on hearing how much money he won.
“You wouldn’t believe how much of a difference this will make. This is the best Monday morning I’ve ever had,” the winner laughed.
After playing Lotto for thirty years, the winner has no doubt how he will use his winnings.
“I’ll pay off the mortgage, give some to the kids and take a holiday. I’ve never been overseas, I’d love to go to Vegas and now I can.
“Apart from the kids and grandkids being born this is the most exciting thing that has ever happened to me. I’ll celebrate for sure, I can’t wait to tell my parents and the kids this news,” the transport worker added.
The Worrigee winner won his share of the $21 million division one prize pool with a 12 game entry which cost $8.05. The winner has been playing the same numbers, which were randomly picked, for more than 30 years.
NSW Lotteries officials were able to contact the Worrigee winner and confirm his Saturday Lotto Superdraw win as he registered his winning ticket to a Players Club card.
Saturday Lotto Superdraw ticket holders in the Mosman area are encouraged to check their tickets as soon as possible. The mystery owner of a ticket purchased from Spit Junction Newsagency at 2 Spit Road, Mosman has won a $1,105,263.16 share in Saturday Lotto’s $21 million division one prize pool.
As the holder of the winning ticket did not register their entry to a Players Club card, NSW Lotteries officials have no means of contacting the winner to inform them of their good news.
Graeme Gill from Spit Junction Newsagency said that they will be encouraging their customers to check their tickets in the hope of finding the lucky winner.
“We will certainly be reminding people to bring their ticket in for checking until we find the winner. We have been waiting nine years to have a division one win so we are looking forward to telling the winner that they won more than $1 million in Saturday Lotto’s Superdraw,” Mr Gill said.
