Canberra will aim to be the first team starting as favourites to win Monday night football this season when they host North Queensland at home. Outsiders have paved a path over the first four rounds winning three from four Monday night games.
The Raiders however enter the game with a spring in their step after flogging Wests in last week’s game. The Cowboys are coming off the back of a hard loss to Cronulla at home and Jonathan Thurston is yet to assert his presence on the 2012 season.
– North Queensland have a great record against Canberra both at home and on the road. The Cowboys have won seven of their past ten games against the green machine which are typically high scoring encounters.
– Matt Bowen has knocked on the QLD origin selector’s door with each touch of the football this season. Bowen has been inspirational in attack crossing the line on four occasions and breaking the line more times than any of his teammates. Reece Robinson carved through the Tigers defence last week and was arguably the Raiders best player replacing the injured Josh Dugan.
– Going with the trend of underdogs coming away with the points in Monday Night Football the Cowboys should bounce back from last week and record a close win. Cowboys 1-12 .
