Tuesday 17 April 2012 - A Mitcham family is still in shock after receiving a phone call telling them they’d won a $469,473.72 division one share of the $4 million prize pool from Saturday’s TattsLotto draw.
“You don’t know how long I’ve been dreaming of this call,” the winning father said.
“We’ve been playing the same combination of numbers every Saturday for 30 years, made up of family birthdays and special numbers.
“It will probably take a while for the reality of the win to sink in.”
The shocked family’s not sure how they’ll use the prize money, but said that it will come in handy after a few financial setbacks.
The winning ticket was purchased from Tobacco Station at Eastland Shopping Centre in Ringwood.
The TattsLotto outlet owner Bruce Liang said he had a feeling one of his customers would win in 2012.
“I had a sixth sense at the start of the year that we’d sell a division one winner.
“This is actually the third division one winning ticket we have sold in three years, and hopefully there’s more to come.
“We’re absolutely over the moon for the winners.”
The Mitcham family were one of nine division one winners nationally in TattsLotto draw 3207 on Saturday 14 March 2012. They were one of four winners in Victoria, while there was one each in Queensland, Western Australia, Northern Territory, New South Wales and South Australia.
The winning numbers were 18, 25, 43, 13, 8 and 7 with supplementary numbers 17 and 4.
