Manchester United  can go a long way to securing the Premier League title when they face Wigan  at the DW Stadium on Thursday morning (AEST). The defending champions are eight points clear of crosstown rivals Manchester City  and with the Citizens hosting West Bromwich Albion  at the same time, today could be decisive in terms of the title race.

Wigan, who have lost all fourteen clashes between the sides, are again likely to be without striker Hugo Rodallega who is still recovering from a knee injury, while United could rest Paul Scholes and Rio Ferdinand, although Nani could return. When the clubs met at Old Trafford on Boxing Day, United ran out comfortable 5-0  winners.

Arsenal  will be out to reaffirm their place in the top four when they face Wolves  at the Molineux, while QPR  need a win against Swansea  to improve their chances of avoiding relegation.
