BNP Paribas Open Indian Wells

The tournament regarded as the fifth major, the BNP Paribas Open, has begun in Indian Wells and all of the top ranked players are there. All 32 seeded players in the men’s draw have a first round bye but there are still numerous good matchups in the opening round. Three Australian are in the main draw, with Marinko Matosevic and Matthew Ebden coming through the qualifiers.

World number 36 Bernard Tomic begins his campaign against Gilles Muller from Luxembourg on Saturday morning (AEST). The pair have met only once before, when Muller defeated a sixteen year-old Tomic in four sets at the Australian Open in 2009.
