Western Australia can secure a home Sheffield Shield final by defeating Tasmania in Hobart this week. The Warriors charge will be led by their batsman, with former Australian representatives Shaun Marsh and Adam Voges in their squad. Tasmania, who is in a three way tie for second on the ladder, will be skippered by Ricky Ponting as they try to qualify for the final, and a chance to defend the title that they won last season.
Queensland is in a strong position going into the final round, with an outright win over South Australia going to be enough for them to qualify for the decider, which they will host if they win and the Warriors don’t. Victoria still have a chance of making the final, although they are likely to need an outright win over New South Wales to do so.
