Tasmanian Daniel Geale will defend his IBF Middleweight belt for the second time when he faces Osumanu Adama from Ghana on Wednesday night. The thirty-one year old won the title with his defeat of German Sebastian Sylvester in May last year, before retaining it by unanimous decision against Eromosele Albert in August. That success took the 2002 Commonwealth Games gold medallist’s career record to twenty-six wins in twenty-seven fights, of which fifteen have been by knockout.
Adama is the current IBO international middleweight champion, having won the vacant title by unanimous decision over Angel Hernandez in 2010. In his most recent bout, he knocked former world champion Roman Karmazin out in the ninth round to take his impressive career record to twenty wins and just two defeats.
