No more renting for Edmonton family thanks to Gold Lotto win!

Tuesday 6 March, 2012 - An Edmonton family will finally be able to buy a home of their own, after winning a division one prize worth $474,112.18 in Saturday Gold Lotto.

The husband was at work when Golden Casket phoned to advise him of the win.

“You’re kidding!” he exclaimed.

“I had no idea!

“I don’t normally check my Saturday Gold Lotto entry until the following Saturday, when I visit Edmonton News to buy another one!

“We only registered these numbers to our Winners Circle Card 12 months ago, so it hasn’t taken long for us to win division one!”

When asked how he and his wife plan to spend their prize money, the man said they would use it to buy a family home.

“We’ve been renting for several years, trying to save for a house deposit,” he explained.

“Now we’ll be able to buy a home of our own, with cash!”

Golden Casket Public Relations Executive Louise Azzopardi said it was fortunate the family had their entry registered to a Winners Circle Card so Golden Casket could phone them with the good news.

“If they hadn’t registered their entry, Golden Casket wouldn’t have been able to contact them and the husband could have carried the winning ticket around all week, oblivious to the fact it was worth more than $474,000!”

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3195 on 3 March were 11, 5, 4, 14, 12 and 31, with supplementary numbers 6 and 16.

There were nine division one winners nationally in Gold Lotto draw 3195. There were four division one winners in Queensland, two division one winners in Victoria, and one each in the Northern Territory, Tasmania and Western Australia.
