Following their thrilling win in the 1st final at the Gabba on Sunday night, Australia can wrap up the Commonwealth Bank Series by defeating Sri Lanka in the 2nd final at the Adelaide Oval on Tuesday. David Warner will be looking to back up his imposing 163 in Brisbane and will also look forward to renewing acquaintances with Matthew Wade at the top of the order, after the pair combined for an opening partnership of 136 on Sunday. Australia’s much vaunted pace attack has been potent throughout the summer, and Brett Lee and James Pattinson will be looking to continue their fine form.
Prior to Sunday’s match, Sri Lanka had beaten the hosts in their past three meetings on Australian soil and will be confident of recording another upset. Tillakaratne Dilshan and Dinesh Chandimal have been their top scorers in the tournament to date and will want to continue their fine form. Despite conceding more than a run a ball throughout the competition, Lasith Malinga remains Sri Lanka’s highest wicket taker and he will be pivotal to the visitor’s hopes of taking the finals series to a decider.
