Footy Fever a winner in Alice Springs!

Monday 5 March, 2012 - Footy fever hit Alice Springs in more ways than one on Saturday, with a local newsagency’s Footy Fever TattsLotto syndicate winning more than half a million dollars.

Centre News and Lotto owner Rob Beames said his store created the ‘Footy Fever’ syndicate to tie in with the NAB Cup game at Traeger Park on Saturday night.

“There was a real buzz in town on Saturday, as excitement built for the game,” he explained.

“So we decided to get in on the action by setting up a Footy Fever Syndicate for our customers.

“We established the 20 share Syndicate around 11.00am on Saturday and by 1.00pm it had sold out!

“It just goes to show how popular our store Syndicates are. They give customers the opportunity to buy a share in a larger entry, which offers more chances to win.

“When we found out the Footy Fever Syndicate had won division one, and that each of the lucky shareholders had turned their $27.48 investment into $25,128.29, we were so excited!

“A couple of the shareholders have come in to see us already.

“They knew the syndicate had won, but weren’t sure what the share dividend amount was.

“It was great to be able to tell them that they had won more than $25,000!

“We’re looking forward to sharing the excitement with the remaining shareholders as they come in to see us this week.”

Mr Beames explained that the winning ticket was a QuickPick, which included one System 11 game, one System 10 game, one System 9 game and 12 System 7 games.

“It was the System 11 that won division one, matching all six numbers,” he said.

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 3195 on Saturday 3 March were 11, 5, 4, 14, 12 and 31. The supplementary numbers were 6 and 16.
