Friday 30 March - The mystery owner of the $1 million winning Monday Lotto ticket has come forward to claim his prize.
The man from Sydney’s Northern suburbs, who checked his ticket late yesterday evening, said that the he will need a few days to recover from the shock of winning $1 million.
“I can’t believe it. I have been walking around with this ticket in my pocket not knowing it was worth $1 million. Thank God nothing happened to it,” the winner who is in his early forties said.
“I’m going to buy a house and take an overseas holiday. This is so fantastic, I will continue to work but it is just great to know that I won’t have the worry of a big mortgage.
“This has changed my life; it is completely out of the blue. I always thought that there is no way I would be lucky enough to win the big one,” the $1 million winner added.
The Northern suburbs man won the $1 million division one Monday Lotto prize with a 24 game autopick which cost just $13.15.
The winning ticket was purchased from Nextra Chatswood Newsagency in Westfield Shopping Centre, Chatswood.
The winning numbers in Monday Lotto, draw 3124 were 42, 17, 44, 31, 21 and 36. The supplementary numbers were 28 and 34.
