UEFA Champions League Quarter Finals

Benfica  and Chelsea  do battle in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter final on Wednesday morning, with the Portuguese club looking to build on their astonishing home record. They have won 18 of 21 home matches this season and are unbeaten in ten European matches in Lisbon. In the round of 16, a 2-0  second leg win at home was enough to see Benfica advance to the quarterfinals with a 4-3 aggregate win over Zenit St Petersburg.

Chelsea required extra time to get past Napoli in the last round before winning 5-4 on aggregate. After trailing 3-1 after the first leg, they recorded a 3-1  home win of their own in the return fixture. John Terry should be available for the Londoners after returning to the sides against Tottenham on the weekend, but Branislav Ivanovic is likely to miss out again with a thigh injury.

The other match on the day sees Cypriot club APOEL FC  host Spanish giants Real Madrid , who have won seven of their eight matches in this season’s competition.
