Australian Guineas (MR6) **TattsBet $180,000 First Four Jackpot**
-Three time Group one winner Helmet is a deserved favourite for this race, following his Caulfield Guineas win in the spring. He had no luck on his reappearance in the C.S Hayes Stakes but can bounce back from that run from a good draw in barrier five. He should be able to race on the speed and grind his opposition into the ground. No Australian Guineas winner has ever started from a double figure barrier, but Mosheen and That’s The One will bid to change that. The former is a group one winner and meets some of these rivals better off at the weights for beating them over 1200m first up, while That’s The One was impressive in winning the Hayes Stakes at his last run. Instinction also ran well in that contest, which has historically been a key form race for this contest and has drawn well in barrier one. With plenty of rain forecast in Melbourne, it would be foolish to discount the likes of Derby winner Strike The Stars and Sabrage, who will relish the going and be running on strongly at the finish.
Selections: Helmet, Instinction, Strike The Stars, Mosheen
**TattsBet $28,853 Treble Jackpot (BR7, BR8 & BR9)**
1200m Handicap (BR7)
– De Bois has been running well, finishing second at his past three starts and can get a well-deserved win in this contest. He drops 2kg’s from that run and will get a good run from an inside draw. Spirit Of Flately won impressively last time out and should run well again, while The Reveller and River Lad both have plenty of scope for improvement. Atlanta Falcon could surprise at his first run in Brisbane for Patinack Farm.
Selections: De Bois, The Reveller, Spirit Of Flately, Atlanta Falcon
1600m Member’s Cup (BR8)
– Star Of Octagonal looks to have a strong chance in this contest following an impressive last start win at Rosehill. He flopped here in the Stradbroke last year but will find this much easier. Tomboy has won seven of her last nine starts and warrants respect here. Her only run over this trip produced an easy win two length win and she will run well again. Steel Zip looks well in at the weights for this race and will get a good run from barrier six, while Jasminka is well placed in this race if she can find her best form.
Selections: Star Of Octagonal, Tomboy, Steel Zip, Jasminka
1400m Class 6 Plate (BR9) **TattsBet $5,517 ANY2 Jackpot**
– Whisperossa drops 4kg’s from his first up run for this and will be hard to beat with Chris Munce on board. He is unbeaten second up and over this distance. Purettan has placed at all three runs this campaign and should be ready to win. Product was heavily backed at her last start and didn’t disappoint. Despite being drawn awkwardly, she is sure to be competitive over her pet distance. Win A Million is well in under the set weights conditions of this race as the highest ranked galloper, while Garozzo and Snip ‘N’ Duck also look well placed.
Selections: Whisperossa, Win A Million, Purettan, Product
