Bonnyrigg grandfather claims $6 million Powerball jackpot

Friday 2 March - A Bonnyrigg grandfather is planning a family barbeque to celebrate winning $6 million in last night’s Powerball draw.

NSW Lotteries officials were able to contact the winner this afternoon, as he registered his $6 million winning ticket to his Players Club card.

The winner, who said he is a regular Powerball player, will use the money to help his family.

“I am very happy, I am thanking God for my good fortune!” the winner exclaimed.

“I have got seven children so I will help all of my children and I’ll buy myself a house. But first I will organise a big barbeque for the whole family to celebrate my win.”

The winner scored $6 million on his regular purchase of a 12 game entry which cost just $9.70.

“I always play these numbers in Powerball, when I first picked them I asked God to help me choose the numbers,” the winner added.

The $6 million winning ticket was purchased from Fairfield Railway Bookstall at Fairfield Railway Station, Fairfield.

The winning numbers in Powerball draw 824 were 43, 38, 37, 39 and 42 with the Powerball 27.
