Redland Bay tradesman will hang up his boots

Monday 19 March, 2012 - A Redland Bay tradesman will be able to hang up his boots once and for all, after winning $1,425,615.42 in Saturday’s Gold Lotto draw.

The man, who has been playing Saturday Gold Lotto for almost 25 years, learned of his life-changing windfall this morning when Golden Casket phoned to confirm his win.

“I’ve been playing Gold Lotto every Saturday since the 1980’s,” he explained.

“I’ve had a few small wins over the years but never anything like this.

“This is fabulous!”

When asked what he plans to do with his windfall, the man said the money would enable him to hang up his work boots once and for all.

“Thanks to this win, I’ll be able to take an early retirement,” he said.

“I’d also like to share some of the prize money with my extended family.”

The man purchased his winning 12 game QuickPick from Redland Bay Newsagency in the Redland Bay Shopping Centre on Broadwater Terrace.

Redland Bay Newsagency owner Paul Lang said the win had generated a lot of excitement in-store.

“We’re really delighted to have sold a division one winning Gold Lotto ticket,” he said.

“It’s wonderful to see a Redland Bay local win such a substantial prize.

“The team at Redland Bay Newsagency wishes the lucky winner all the very best!”

There were three division one winners nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3199 on Saturday 17 March 2012. There were two division one winners in Queensland and one in Western Australia.

The winning numbers were 30, 21, 4, 10, 41 and 42. The supplementary numbers were 27 and 34.
