The Queensland Reds  return to Suncorp Stadium for the first time since winning last year’s Super Rugby final at the ground when they face Western Force  on Saturday night. Anthony Faingaa and Scott Higginbotham have been ruled out of the team that scored an after-the-siren win against the Waratahs last week, although Wallaby flyer Rod Davies is set to come off the bench in his first match of 2012.

Western Force has not won in Queensland in four attempts, while the Reds have won fourteen of their last sixteen matches in Brisbane. That record is unlikely to change this weekend with the Force putting in an ordinary performance against the unfancied Brumbies last weekend, going down 19-17. If they are to get anything out of the match, you would think the likes of Nathan Sharpe and captain David Pocock will have to be at the top of the game. Pocock has been singled out by Reds coach Ewen McKenzie as the dangerman for the Perth based club.

The Highlanders  takes on the Crusaders  in Saturday’s opening Super Rugby contest before the Cheetahs  host the Bulls  and the Stormers  take on the Sharks  in South Africa.
