Liverpool will be looking to get backing into the Premier League top six when they host Tottenham at Anfield on Tuesday morning (AEST). The Reds got their season back on track with a 3-0 win away to Wolves in their last match after suffering a disappointing 3-1 away defeat to Bolton ten days earlier. Skipper Steven Gerrard is set to return after being rested for the trip to Molineux, while Luis Suarez is likely to start his first game since Boxing Day after serving his nine match suspension.
Tottenham, flying high in third on the ladder, could be without three of their main attacking threats with Jermaine Defoe, Emmanuel Adebayor and Rafael van der Vaart all under injury clouds. William Gallas and Tom Huddlestone are also both out, but new addition Louis Saha could make his debut for Spurs.
When the teams met at White Hart Lane at the start of the season, Tottenham battered their rivals to run out 4-0 winners. Indeed they have had the wood over Liverpool, having won four of the past five League clashes. Although the Reds are unbeaten in the Premier League at home this season, they have been held to a draw in seven of those matches.
