Australia will look to continue their dominance over India when the sides meet in the first of two Twenty20 internationals at ANZ Stadium on Wednesday. Selectors have rewarded players that performed well in the Big Bash League, with the likes of Travis Birt  and Aaron Finch  earning recalls on the back of strong performances in the competition. The big talking points however, have been the recall of 41 year old spinner Brad Hogg  and the controversial inclusion of skipper George Bailey , who many have suggested shouldn’t even be in the side.

After their lacklustre performances in the Test series, the tourists will be hoping that the addition of some fresh faces will lead to a better showing. Suresh Raina  has a good record in the shortest format of the game, and together with Rohit Sharma , will have a big role to play in the middle order. Praveen Kumar  has had success with the ball in limited overs cricket in recent times and is a welcome addition to the bowling attack after missing the Test matches with a fractured rib.

The teams have met in a Twenty20 International on four previous occasions, with the ledger all square at two wins a piece. The last clash took place at the 2010 t20 World Cup, where Australia won by 49 runs.
