12 months ago Peyton Manning was recovering from neck surgery and for the first time in his career, the future Hall of Famer had a clouded future. Now, his new team, the Denver Broncos , have already clinched the AFC West divisional title with four games to go in the season, and his team is riding high on a seven-game winning streak.

Admittedly, the Broncos are dominating the worst division in the NFL, with the woeful Chargers, Raiders and Chiefs bringing up the rear. The Raiders started the season a respectable 3-4, but five losses on the trot mean the fans in Oakland will be spending a tenth consecutive year without postseason football to look forward to.

As great as he once was, Manning’s comeback has been nothing short of incredible. He’s second in the NFL in completion percentage, touchdown passes and passer rating, and the Broncos’ offence has been nigh on unstoppable of late, passing 30 points in six of their last seven starts. Manning has thrown 18 TDs and just six interceptions over that period, and Demaryius Thomas has been the main beneficiary of late, with four touchdown receptions in the past three weeks.

Even without Manning in the line-up, Denver has won on seven of its last nine trips to Oakland. The Broncos won the teams’ match-up earlier this season 37-6 , and given the Raiders have the worst defence in the NFL, it’s hard to see them stopping the Manning-led Denver juggernaut rolling on.
