$100,000 Instant Scratch-Its windfall comes just in time for the honeymoon!

Friday 7 December, 2012 - A newly married woman from the Sydney suburb of Greenwich recently visited NSW Lotteries head office to claim a $100,000 Top Prize on a $5 Crosswords ticket. The windfall comes just before the newlyweds leave for their honeymoon!

The winner explained that her husband bought the winning Instant Scratch-Its $5 Crosswords ticket after missing his bus.

“It’s my husband’s ticket, he missed the bus in the afternoon and bought two Instant Scratch-Its tickets to scratch while he was waiting,” the winner in her mid-thirties said.

“As soon as he realised he had won the $100,000 Top Prize he called me straight away. I left work and when I saw the ticket, I started crying, I was completely shocked. Then we celebrated by opening a bottle of champagne.

“We just got married two months ago and are going on our honeymoon in two weeks. We’ve also been trying to save for a house and were hoping to be ready to buy in about a year. So now we can start looking for a house sooner, this win takes a lot of the stress off,” the winner said.

“With a $100,000 win in the bank we can enjoy our honeymoon that little bit more,” the delighted winner added.

The newlyweds won the $100,000 Top Prize on a $5 Instant Scratch-Its Crosswords ticket. The winning ticket was sold from North Sydney Newsagency at 50 Miller Street, North Sydney.
