Monday 31 December, 2012 - A Tasmanian man has come forward to claim his $1.4 million prize from TattsLotto’s $30 million Megadraw on the weekend!
The man purchased his winning unregistered QuickPick entry from Centre Newsagency and Lotto in Woolworths Arcade on Best Street, Devonport.
“My word, this is definitely life-changing,” he said to a Tatts official today.
“When I checked the TattsLotto results in the newspaper I just kept crossing the numbers off, one-by-one, and I started thinking, ‘Well, this looks promising!’
“Now I’ll be able to buy a lot of things I couldn’t afford before. There’s the day-to-day items taken care of, but I’ll also be able to do other things like take trips somewhere.
“It’s a good feeling to have won, I’m quite happy,” the winning man said.
As the Devonport winner did not register their entry to a Tatts Card, Tatts officials had not spoken with the lucky winner until he came forward today.
The second Tasmanian winner who purchased his System 7 winning entry from Newstead Newsagency and Lotto in Newstead said he was “gobsmacked” at the news yesterday.
With the addition of Saturday night’s winning entries to date in 2012, ten Tasmanian winners have scored division one prizes totalling more than $11.5 million.
Throughout Australia, there were 21 winners who claimed a $1,428,571.43 first division share of TattsLotto’s $30 million Megadraw division one prize pool. Along with the two winning tickets purchased in Tasmania, there were five purchased in Victoria, four in New South Wales, four in Queensland, four in Western Australia, and two in South Australia.
The winning numbers in TattsLotto’s $30 million Megadraw 3281 on 29 December 2012 were 25, 7, 35, 15, 37 and 14 with the supplementary numbers 20 and 3.
