Sunday 30 December, 2012 - The New Year has started with good news for two Tasmanian winners who have each won a share in the $30 million division one prize pool in last night’s TattsLotto Megadraw. Each winning ticket sold in Tasmania has scored more than $1.4 million!
The winning tickets were sold from Newstead and Devonport.
One regular TattsLotto customer will start 2013 $1,434,687.23 richer after winning a share in TattsLotto’s $30 million Megadraw.
The winning entry was registered to a Tatts Card so a Tatts official was able to contact the winner this morning to break the good news.
The winner was shocked to learn of his TattsLotto windfall.
“I’m gobsmacked!” he exclaimed when realising he was one of Australia’s newest millionaires.
“I’ll take some time to work out how to spend the money but I will do it very carefully,” the winner said.
The winner purchased his System 7 winning entry from Newstead Newsagency and Lotto in Newstead.
As the winner who purchased their winning ticket in Devonport did not register their entry to a Tatts Card, Tatts officials have no way of contacting the lucky winner.
TattsLotto $30 million Megadraw players who purchased their tickets from Centre Newsagency and Lotto in Woolworths Arcade on Best Street are encouraged to check their entries as soon as possible, as there is a $1.42 million surprise in store for one lucky winner.
With the addition of last night’s winning entries to date in 2012, ten Tasmanian winners have scored division one prizes totalling more than $11.5 million.
Throughout Australia, there were 21 winners who claimed a $1,428,571.43 first division share of TattsLotto’s $30 million Megadraw division one prize pool. Along with the two winning tickets purchased in Tasmania, there were five purchased in Victoria, four in New South Wales, four in Queensland, four in Western Australia, and two in South Australia.
