Friday 21 December 2012 - The holder of a registered division one winning ticket who won a $1 million division one prize in Monday Lotto draw 3200 has come forward to claim his prize.
The Great Grandfather is one of the state’s newest millionaires winning $1,000,000 with a 14 game marked entry purchased from Cootamundra Newsagency.
When learning of his new millionaire status the shocked winner swore in disbelief.
“It would be an understatement to say that I am excited and shocked!” the winner exclaimed.
“My late wife chose the winning numbers so they are very special to me. I have been playing them since she passed away so I am sure she will be looking down and smiling on me.
“At my age this is the perfect time to win because I’ll be able to use the money to help my family. There is no way I could spend $1 million on my own.”
NSW Lotteries spokesperson Elissa Lewis said that Lotto players are encouraged to always register their Lotto tickets to a NSW Lotteries Players Club card and to keep their contact details up to date.
“Despite being registered, Monday’s Lotto winner hadn’t updated his contact details so we were unable to contact him to tell him the exciting news. Thankfully he wasted no time in checking his ticket and discovered that he had won $1 million,” Ms Lewis said.
“Players Club membership protects winner’s prizes and ensures they can be contacted with news of a big win.”
There will be many more happy winners before New Year with Saturday Lotto’s $30 Million Megadraw just around the corner on 29 December.
Buy an entry today for your chance to share in $30 million, or purchase a ticket as a Christmas gift for friends, family or work colleagues!
The winning numbers in Monday Lotto, draw 3200, were 7, 13, 29, 35, 36 and 40 with the supplementary numbers 6 and 21.
