Mystery Carramar winner comes forward to claim $1 million Monday Lotto prize

Wednesday 12 December 2012 - The mystery of the unknown Carramar Lotto player who won the $1 million division one prize in Monday Lotto’s draw was solved this morning when the winner visited NSW Lotteries head office to claim his prize.

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, won a total of $1,004,713.75 with a five game Systems 8 ticket purchased from Carramar Newsagency at 130a Wattle Avenue, Carramar.

NSW Lotteries Communications Executive, Una O’Neill said that Lotto players are encouraged to always register their Lotto tickets to a NSW Lotteries Players Club card to avoid missing out on prizes.

“Thankfully Monday Lotto’s winner wasted no time in checking their ticket and discovered that they had won over $1 million. However, if the winner had registered their winning ticket to a Players Club card they would have received a phone call informing them of their good fortune,” Ms O’Neill said.

“Players Club membership protects winner’s prizes and ensures they can be contacted with news of a big win.”

The winning numbers in Monday Lotto, draw 3198, were 9, 21, 22, 10, 27 and 8 with the supplementary numbers 34 and 6.

Ms O’Neill also said there will be many more happy winners before New Year.

“Next week Oz Lotto is offering a massive $40 million jackpot in Tuesday’s draw and Saturday Lotto’s $30 Million Megadraw is just around the corner on 29 December,” Ms O’Neill said.
