“Sorry for swearing! That is beautiful!” he exclaimed in his excitement.

“My wife heard on the radio that someone in Townsville had won and she gave me a call and said I should check my ticket. But no, no, I did not think it would have been me! I’m glad I gave you guys a call!”

The family with young children said they’ll think carefully about planning for their future after the $27.9 million windfall.

“We’ll definitely be speaking to a financial planner, and probably look at buying property and different investments.

“I think we’ll upgrade the cars and maybe take a holiday away.

“We’ll have to let it all sink in first though. I’m not sure how we’ll celebrate but as soon as I get off the phone I’m going to go and give my wife a big kiss!

The winning 36-game QuickPick entry was purchased from The Lucky Charm – Townsville, 103-105 Stockland Plaza, 310 Rossriver Road, Townsville.
