Tuesday 6 November, 2012 - The draw Australia has been waiting for, Oz Lotto’s $100 million jackpot, will take place tonight!
NSW Lotteries Spokesperson Zoe Knobel said the country is buzzing with possibilities ahead of the draw this evening.
“As people wake up on Melbourne Cup Day, they’re not only thinking about horses bolting out of the barriers, but 45 yellow balls vying to be drawn from the Oz Lotto barrel tonight,” Ms Knobel said.
“Oz Lotto’s highly anticipated $100 million jackpot draw has finally arrived, and the excitement is palpable across the country.
“Workplaces are buzzing with talk of ‘what you’d do if you won $100 million’ and queues are getting even longer out the doors of newsagencies as people race in to buy their entry for a chance to fulfil their dreams,” she said.
“Oz Lotto’s first division prize pool has jackpotted for nine consecutive weeks to reach $100 million, and we’ve seen an unprecedented level of interest in the draw.
“Around eight million entries will be purchased into the draw nationally, above and beyond our previous forecast of 7.5 million tickets sold.
“The draw coinciding with Melbourne Cup Day means there is a lot of excitement in the air as people place their bets on the horses and pick the seven numbers they hope will come up in Oz Lotto tonight.
“To participate in the draw, players have the option of selecting their own numbers, purchasing a QuickPick where the numbers are selected for you or sharing the cost of an entry by creating a syndicate with colleagues or family,” Ms Knobel added.
Selling into Oz Lotto’s record-breaking $100 million jackpot draw closes at 7.30pm this evening. The draw will be televised on Channel Seven at approximately 8.40pm and the results will be available online at Tatts.com shortly following the draw.
