Monday 5 November, 2012 - An Everton Park man was stunned this morning when he received the dream-come-true phone call from Golden Casket informing him he’d won a $1.75 million share of Saturday Gold Lotto’s $21 million Superdraw on the weekend!
The man in his 40s was pleasantly surprised by the news early this morning. “You beauty,” he said quietly, as the news sunk in.
“I never thought I’d be calling myself a millionaire. This money really comes at a good time. The company I worked for went under a few months ago so I’ve been out of work for a little while.
“I’m planning on relocating so this money will come in handy for the move.”
As for what else he’ll spend his $1.75 million on, the man said he hasn’t drafted a shopping list yet, but he will seek some financial advice on how to set himself up for the future.
In the meantime, he’ll celebrate his good fortune in a low-key way.
“I might even go down and have a couple of beers. A time like this probably calls for it.”
The man purchased his winning 18-game QuickPick entry from News Extra Everton Park News, 801 Stafford Road, Everton Park.
Throughout Australia, there were twelve winners who claimed a $1.75 million share of the $21 million Superdraw division one prize pool. The Everton Park man was the sole Queenslander to win a share, along with four winners in Victoria, three in New South Wales, two in South Australia and one each in Tasmania and Western Australia.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto’s $21 million Superdraw, draw 3265 on 3 November 2012 were 31, 20, 12, 38, 43 and 7 with the supplementary numbers 25 and 6.
Golden Casket Public Relations Executive Zoe Knobel said there could be more big winners this week, with large jackpots up for grabs in Oz Lotto and Powerball.
“Tomorrow night Oz Lotto is offering a jaw-dropping $100 million, while the Powerball jackpot has skyrocketed to $20 million for Thursday night! Purchase your entry today for your chance to become the newest member of the Golden Casket millionaires club.”
