It’s not even at the halfway point of the season and already Philadelphia and New Orleans are running out of chances to get their seasons back on track.
The Eagles started their campaign brightly enough, but three straight losses mean the pressure is quickly building on quarterback Michael Vick and head coach Andy Reid. Saints QB Drew Brees isn’t under the microscope, but if his defence doesn’t start helping out, it will be a long season for the man who recently set the record for the longest streak of games with a touchdown pass.
Star Eagles running back Lesean McCoy scored 20 touchdowns last season, and has added another five through the first seven games. He should find plenty of space against a Saints team which has been giving up 170 yards per game on the ground. Receivers Desean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin have also been productive this season, but Philly’s main issue has been actually reaching the end zone. If Vick can limit his turnovers, they may be a chance in this game.
New Orleans will be without running back Darren Sproles due to a broken hand. With this in mind, Brees will probably look to attack through the air. One of his favourite targets, Jimmy Graham , has been struggling with an ankle injury of late, so expect wideout Marcus Colston to see plenty of the ball, while Devery Henderson is a good deep option.
