24 November 2012 - A North-Richmond homemaker recently visited NSW Lotteries head-office to claim her $85,000 prize won on a $4 Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
The winner said that the win came about by following a family tradition of giving each other Instant Scratch-Its tickets as birthday presents.
“It was recently my husband’s birthday and in my family we always give each-other lottery tickets for birthdays, so I bought him $20 worth of Instant Scratch-Its,” the North-Richmond woman told a NSW Lotteries official.
“Last night he said to me that we should sit down and scratch the tickets together, he gave me the first one to scratch and we won $85,000!
“We have just applied to take a loan out with the bank and earlier I called them to say we wouldn’t need it anymore. It’s just wonderful timing for us, my husband is beside himself he’s so happy,” the winner said.
“We’ll keep buying each other Instant Scratch-Its tickets for birthday’s, hopefully I’ll be back again after my birthday,” the delighted winner added.
