Feature Race Preview November 24

Keith Noud Handicap (BR7) **TattsBet $150,000 First Four Jackpot** - Excellantes raced well in Melbourne during the Spring Carnival and will appreciate a return to his favoured course and distance here. He is likely to be just behind Audacious Spirit in the run and will be well placed to run him down. That galloper made a pleasing reappearance when scoring a soft win on his reappearance at the start of the month when leading all the way and will attempt to lead from pillar to post again here. Listen Son won this race last year and will give a good sight again at a big price. He likes to go forward, but will not want to get in a speed battle with the aforementioned rivals. Phelan Ready and Carry Me Bluey will be flying home at the finish off the good speed.
Selections: Excellantes, Carry Me Bluey, Audacious Spirit, Listen Son

Winterbottom Stakes (PR8) – Australia’s next sprint star Barakey faces his toughest test yet in this contest. The unbeaten speedball has won all ten of his career starts but faces several horses with top level form from the East Coast. He has led from pillar post throughout his career but may not get things his own way with 1000m specialist Travinator likely to want the front. Peter Snowden saddled up Pinwheel to finish second in this event last year and he has been freshened up with this in mind since winning two of his three starts this campaign, while Hallowell Belle was a good third in the Group One Patinack Classic at Flemington. With the race likely to be run at breakneck pace, Spirit Of Boom will be flying home at the finish.
Selections: Barakey, Spirit Of Boom, Hallowell Belle, Pinwheel

Railway Stakes (PR9) **TattsBet $25,000 First Four Jackpot** – Ranger is the interesting runner in this event, tackling the Group One contest over a mile first up from a spell. He has scored two easy barrier trial wins in preparation for this and is drawn relatively well in the middle of the field. He meets favourite Luckygray 8kg better at the weights compared to went they met in this twelve months ago. Luckygray was a very strong winner first up and deserves to be favourite but top weights haven’t had a great record in this lately. King Saul and Maschino could be the best of the remaining locals, while Wall Street will run his usual honest race for Victorian based trainer Mike Mornoney.
Selections: Ranger, Luckygray, King Saul, Wall Street
