ACT man is relieved to be debt free thanks to $1 million Lotto win

Thursday 22 November 2012 - It’s the phone call all Lotto players dream of receiving and this morning that dream came true for a Gungahlin man who won a $1 million division one prize in last night’s Wednesday Lotto draw.

The winner, a man in his early forties, was speechless upon hearing the good news.

“You’re joking, I’m absolutely speechless! This is so awesome,” the shocked winner said.

“We have been struggling to pay the bills; this really couldn’t come at a better time.

“We promised ourselves we would take a family holiday and were about to start saving towards it. The kids really want to go to Disneyland so now we can make their dream come true,” the father of three said.

“We can use the money to pay off the mortgage and put money aside for the kids’ education. It is such a relief to know we’ll be debt free,” the winner added.

The Gungahlin man became a Lotto winner using numbers he picked just four weeks ago.

“I’ve just started using these numbers; they are a combination of my children’s birth dates.”

The winning System 7 ticket, which cost just $3.85, was purchased from Penney’s Paper Shop at The G, 46-48 Hibberson Street, Gungahlin, ACT.

A 75 year-old man from the Sydney suburb of Moorebank also won a $1 million division one prize in Wednesday Lotto’s Draw.

The winning numbers in Wednesday Lotto, draw 3193, were 6, 30, 19, 26, 12 and 7 with the supplementary numbers 8 and 14.
