The Queensland Bulls have named an unchanged squad for their Sheffield Shield match against the Victoria Bushrangers starting at the Gabba on Wednesday, after opening the season with a big win over South Australia last week. Offseason recruit Usman Khawaja will be out to enhance his claims for a recall to the national side after stroking a composed half century against the Redbacks, while Ben Cutting will be another determined to impress the national selectors after a strong performance in the season opener. The 25 year old was named man of the match after scoring a century and collecting three wickets against South Australia and will want continue to press for national selection after being named in the squad for the first test against New Zealand last summer.
Victoria also started the season with a victory, having beaten Western Australia by 10 wickets at the WACA at the start of the month. Cameron White, David Hussey, Matthew Wade and Clint McKay all return to the squad after missing the start of the season while on Australian duty. McKay is likely to form part of a strong pace attack, alongside Test bowlers Peter Siddle and James Pattinson, as well as John Hastings. Although it is a completely different format, the Bushrangers will be full of confidence following their 190 run win over the Bulls in the RYOBI Cup on Sunday.
