Tuesday 2 October, 2012 - A woman in Dandenong is shaking with shock today after finally claiming her $300,000 TattsLotto prize two weeks after the draw took place on 15 September.
The 61-year-old winner said she hadn’t come forward to claim the prize sooner as she was in total disbelief that she had won.
“I couldn’t believe it – I still can’t believe it!” she exclaimed.
“I’m still shaking. I just keep saying it was a fluke that I walked in that day and bought a QuickPick that won the big one!”
The winner said she truly doesn’t know how to use her newfound wealth.
“I don’t know what to do with myself. My husband just shakes his head and laughs. My son says to me, ‘Mum, settle down, it’s okay!’ but I just cannot believe it.
“I have a lot of thinking to do now. For now, I’ll just look at the money in the bank, and I might speak to my accountant.”
The unregistered entry purchased from Winning Edge Lotto and Tobacco Station on Lonsdale Street, Dandenong netted its owner a total prize of $307,996.41.
Tatts Public Relations Executive Zoe Knobel said that Tatts is very pleased the winner has come forward, as the ticket was unregistered.
“As the entry was not registered to a Tatts Card, we were unable to contact the winner to share the amazing news the first business day after the draw,” Ms Knobel said.
Throughout Australia, there were fourteen winners who shared in TattsLotto’s guaranteed $4 million division one prize pool on 15 September. There were ten winners in Victoria, three in Queensland, and one in Western Australia.
The winning numbers in Saturday TattsLotto draw 3251 on 15 September 2012 were 32, 34, 19, 2, 11 and 23 with the supplementary numbers 10 and 39.
Ms Knobel added that there could be more big winners this week, with large jackpots on offer in Oz Lotto and Powerball.
“There’s $15 million on offer in Oz Lotto tonight, and Powerball has jackpotted to $40 million this Thursday! Purchase your entry today for your chance to become the newest member of the Tatts millionaires club.”
