Perth Glory host Brisbane Roar tonight, determined to erase the memories of the last fixture between the sides which saw the reigning premiers cost to a 4-0 win. Indeed Perth has a terrible record against Brisbane with just three wins from nineteen meetings. The bad news doesn’t end there either for the Glory, with the club have collected just one point from a possible twelve going into the match. They will be boosted by the availability of Billy Mehmet , who had his suspension overturned by the FFA, while defender Josh Mitchell is also available. A decision on Shane Smeltz’s fitness will be made just before kickoff.
Brisbane finally broke their five game losing run with a solid 3-1 win against Melbourne Victory on New Year’s Eve, but are still without the services of playmaker Thomas Broich. In his absence, Mitch Nichols has assumed more responsibility in the middle of the park and his side will be hoping that he can shake off a niggling groin injury to take his place in the starting XI.
