After slumping to four straight defeats, Brisbane Heat  will be looking to regain some pride when they take on the unbeaten Hobart Hurricanes  at the Gabba on Friday night. Their cause is set to be boosted by the return of skipper James Hopes  and Roelof van der Merwe , while Daniel Vettori will also play his first game for the team.

After winning their opening four matches and guaranteeing themselves a place in the semi-finals, the Hurricanes have named an unchanged squad to travel to Queensland. Travis Birt  has starred with the bat during their campaign and is second in the tournament runscorer list, while Pakistani import Rana Naved is the leading wicket taker with eleven scalps in four outings.
