Numurkah labourer turns $7.85 into $695,978

Tuesday 24 January, 2012 - A hard working labourer from Numurkah has reason to celebrate this week, after discovering his TattsLotto entry won a division one prize worth $695,978.36 on Saturday night.

The man, who is in his mid-forties, discovered his windfall when he visited Numurkah Lotto Agency to have his ticket checked.

“It felt pretty amazing to be told I’d won more than $695,000,” he said.

“I’ve been playing TattsLotto, Super 7’s OZ Lotto and Powerball for around three years now.

“I’ve always held hope that if I stuck with it, one day I would win division one.

“This has turned out to be the best $7.85 I’ve ever spent!”

When asked how he plans to use his prize money, the man said he would use the money to secure his financial future.

“This money won’t change me or the way I live my life, but I’ll now be able to rest easy with the knowledge that I am financially secure,” he said.

“If I set things up right, I might even be able to take an early retirement.”

The man purchased his winning 12 game QuickPick entry from Numurkah Lotto on Melville Street.

There were six division one winners nationally in TattsLotto draw 3183 on Saturday 21 January 2012.

There were two division one winners in Victoria and one each in Tasmania, Queensland, Western Australia and South Australia.

The winning numbers were 9, 14, 22, 31, 33 and 2 with supplementaries 30 and 12.
