The Melbourne Renegades  will be looking to build on their opening Big Bash success when they host the Sydney Sixers  at Etihad Stadium tonight. After losing their opening two encounters, they bounced back to form in their last match with Brad Hodge  combining with Aaron Finch  for a big opening partnership  on his return from injury. Their much vaunted bowling attack also fired, with Dirk Nannes, Shaun Tait and Shahid Afridi bowling better than they had previously in the competition.

The Sixers recorded their second victory in round three, defeating the star studded Melbourne Stars by two runs in a nail biter at the SCG. West Indian import Dwayne Bravo  was elevated to the top of the order to open with Englishman Michael Lumb  top scored with a good half century. With Steve O’Keefe still recovering from injury, Steve Smith will again captain the side.
