World number 38 Bernard Tomic  will attempt to become the first Australian through to the 3rd round of the Australian Open when he faces American Sam Querrey  on Rod Laver Arena tonight. After his epic five set win  against Fernando Verdasco on Monday, the nineteen year old will be full of confidence that he can beat the world number 95, who recorded a comfortable straight sets win  over Frenchman Kenny De Schepper in the opening round.

The second match of the night sees Australian wildcard Casey Dellacqua  take on world number three Victoria Azarenka . Azarenka was in ominous form in the first round, dropping just one game on her way to an easy straight sets win . Dellacqua also recorded a straight sets win  on the opening day with a 6-3 6-2 triumph over Serbian Bojana Jovanovski.

The pair has met twice before, both times in 2008, with Azarenka winning in straight sets on both occasions. Ironically, all four sets that she has won have had a 6-2  scoreline.
