Four time winner Roger Federer begins his 2012 Australian Open campaign against little known Alexander Kudryavtsev  on Rod Laver Arena tonight. The Russian, who came through the qualifiers to be in the main draw, is playing in his first Australian Open and is expected to be thoroughly outclassed against the man who has won more Grand Slams than any other player. The gulf between the pair is expected to be so great that TattsBet are not even prepared to offer a price on the Swiss star winning the match. The former world number one is expected to finish his opponent off quickly  and with such a lopsided result expected, punters can bet on Federer handing out a flogging  or alternatively, Kudryavtsev keeping it relatively tight  in the handicap betting market.

Following Federer’s match, world number one Caroline Wozniacki  will take to the court when she faces Australia’s own Anastasia Rodionova . The only previous meeting between the pair took place on a clay court in Rome last year, with the Danish ace winning in straight sets  after taking the opening stanza 6-2 .
