NFL Playoffs Continue

After suffering just one defeat during the regular season, the Green Bay Packers  will go into their divisional playoff against the New York Giants  full of confidence. They will go into this match fresh after getting last weekend off and the extra time between matches and are boosted by the return of receiver Greg Jennings. The Packers have won thirteen straight at home, but ironically, suffered a 23-20 overtime loss to the Giants in the last playoff game at Lambeau Field four years ago.

The New Year Giants kept their Superbowl hopes alive with a 24-2 win over the Atlanta Falcons in last week’s wildcard playoffs. That win was their third in succession and quarterback Eli Manning is firing at the right time of the year. Although he will get most of the plaudits for his team’s success, the Giants defensive squad has been played a huge part in their strong form, giving up just 30 points in the past three matches.

The Packers defeated the Giants by three points in a high scoring  thriller to triumph 38-35 when the teams met on December 4, and were also 45-17 victors in the last clash between the sides at Lambeau Field.

AFC North division winners Baltimore  host the Houston Texans  in the days other NFL playoff game, with the winner advancing to the AFC Championship game against the winner of the New England/Denver match.
