NFL Divisonal Playoffs

NFC West champions San Francisco  face NFC South title holders the New Orleans Saints  in the first game of the NFL's Divisional Playoffs on Sunday morning (AEST). The Saints have looked like the team to beat all year in the National Football Conference and are currently riding on the back of an eight game winning streak.

The high-flying Saints have Drew Brees to thank for much of their success. The star quarterback has thrown for a season high 46 touchdowns this campaign and also leads the NFL in passing yards. The 49ers haven’t had the best preparation with star line-backer Patrick Willis dealing with hamstring issues throughout the playoffs series, however he is likely to lace up against the Saints.

The second game of the morning features AFC East winners the New England Patriots  who play host to AFC West champions the Denver Broncos  at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. The Broncos will be praying for another strong performance by Tim Tebow after the quarterback pulled off a miraculous overtime upset in his playoff debut against the Pittsburgh Steelers last week. The Patriots enter the match as strong favourites on the back of an imposing eight game winning streak.
