Magic Millions Raceday

**TattsBet $1,271 EXTRA DOUBLE Jackpot (QR4 &QR5)**
Magic Millions Sprint (QR4) – Gold Trail is the class runner in this race having won the Group One Railway Stakes in NZ in 2010. Although probably not at his peak, he might not have to be to win this. Paprika has the class to win but hasn’t been seen on the track for over a year, while Seek And Find and Nuptse have good records over this trip. Warrior Girl won this contest two year ago and cannot be ruled out.
Selections: Gold Trail, Warrior Girl, Paprika, Seek And Find

Magic Millions 2YO Classic **TattsBet $46,754 FIRST FOUR Jackpot** (QR5) – Driefontein and Sizzling ran the quinella in the McLachlan Stakes on New Year’s Eve and they again look to have strong claims. With a better draw this time around, Sizzling should race closer to the pace and bridge the margin of 1.5 lengths that he was behind the filly last time out. Amorino has been impressive in winning both of his starts in Sydney and will be tough to hold out, while Alezan Thunder adds another dimension with her Spring carnival form and the Kavanagh/Rodd factor. She showed good speed in winning her last start at Sandown and represent good value. No Looking Back and Fundido are others capable of running into a place.
Selections: Amorino, Alezan Thunder, Sizzling, Fundido

**TattsBet $81,459 QUADRELLA Jackpot (QR6, QR7, QR8 & QR9)**
Magic Millions 3YO Guineas (QR6) – Safusa has made a big impression in winning three of his past four starts and will be hard to hold out again in this race. After scoring a strong win in the Magic Millions 3YO race at Wyong from a wide draw, he will be hard to hold out from gate two in this contest. Easy Running has finally drawn a good gate and will have a strong chance racing just off the speed, while last start winners Punch On and Happy Hussy cannot be dismissed from calculations. Biggles will be running on strongly if there is good pace in the race, while Show A Prince and Playtime raced well in Group One company during Brisbane’s Winter Carnival.
Selections: Easy Running, Safusa, Punch On, Show A Prince

Magic Millions Cup (QR7) – Spirit Of Boom scored a good win in the Listed Goldmarket here two weeks ago and will again be competitive here. Although he has only run a place once in four goes at 1400m, his other runs have been good including a fifth in the Guineas on this day twelve months ago. Startsmeup ran second in that race and has obviously been set for today. He is something of a Magic Millions specialist, having also run fifth in the Classic behind Military Rose in 2010. Catapulted gives weight away to all of his rivals, but the manner of his 3 length win in a Group 3 race at Flemington earlier this month suggests that he will still be competitive. Ready To Rip and My Destiny are capable of being in the finish.
Selections: Spirit Of Boom, Catapulted, Startsmeup, Ready To Rip

Magic Millions Stayers Cup (QR8) – Locally trained galloper Emvoss finished powerfully enough over 1615m at Doomben last time out to suggest that the step up in trip will suit him down to the ground. His record on his home track is almost flawless (6 starts for 4 wins and a 2nd) and he has drawn well in barrier 1. He will be awfully hard to beat. Kontiki Park beat the top pick in the Bernborough Stakes at Doomben but has risen sharply in the weights and may struggle. Playaction, Satch and Hidden Kisses have already been race well and must be given some consideration.
Selections: Emvoss, Playaction, Hidden Kisses, Kontiki Park

Magic Millions Fillies & Mares (QR9) – John O’Shea has done well when sending his horses to Queensland and it is interesting that he has entered Miss Marx here. She is ultra-consistent having never finished worse than fourth and is likely to again be in the finish here. Capital Command is another visitor that is likely to be hard to beat after winning two of her three starts this campaign. She should control the speed from barrier one and will be tough to run down. Gai’s Choice won this race last year and has been set for it again although her form isn’t as good this time in. The best of the local’s appear to be Miss Imagica and Miss Barwang.
Selections: Capital Command, Miss Marx, Miss Imagica, Gai’s Choice
