The world’s best players continue their preparation for the first grand slam of 2012 at the Apia International in Sydney. Tonight’s crowd will not be disappointed with two excitement machines Juan Martin Del-Potro squaring off against Marcos Baghdatis in the third quarter-finals match.
Baghdatis is no stranger to winning in Sydney after claiming the 2010 tournament and will fancy his chances against the higher ranked Del-Potro after recording a four sets victory in their second round clash at last year’s Australian Open.
Tonight’s other quarter-final match features Frenchmen Julien Benneteau up against Russian Alex Bogomolov . Bogomolov easily despatched Viktor Troicki in his second round match while Bennetteau upset number 4 seed Feliciano Lopez in straight sets. The two opponents are yet to square off in any main draw event despite both players being pro for over ten years.
