“Depending on the size of the win, people could potentially live off the interest earned,” Ms O’Neill said.
“For example, $1,000,000 left in a Term Deposit account for one year could earn around 4.6% interest per annum, that’s $46,000 in interest.
“The same amount saved for two years at an interest rate of 4.6% would earn $94,116.
“On top of that, one of the best things about winning Lotto is that the prize itself is completely tax free!” Ms O’Neill added.
The Saturday Lotto $30 million mid-year Megadraw will be aired on Channel Nine at approximately 8.30pm tomorrow night, Saturday 30 June. The winning numbers will also be made available on the NSW Lotteries website following the draw.
